- Ophth Tech I/On-Call
Description
General knowledge of ophthalmic diseases, symptoms, diagnosis & treatment in order to carry out function noted above Demonstrated ability to operate/maintain ophthalmic equipment to perform duties (below). Strong written & verbal skills for patient history assessment, medical record documentation & patient/family.
Performance of OCT Macular/rNFL/AC
Performance of fluorescein angiography (FA)-
Fundus & slip lamp photography
Visual field testing using the Goldman perimeter & Humphrey automated perimeter
(A-scans) IOL Master testing for cataract surgery
Slit lamp and/or handheld applanation & advanced tonometry
Keratometry/Corneal Topography testing
Specular Microscopy testing
Checks visual acuity, uses lensometer & examines patient for abnormalities of color vision
Obtains patient history information conducts patient education; records appropriate progress information, reports abnormal findings to physician

Requirements
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT)
